Being a student of Mr. Yin, though I minor in piano, I still had to stand his coldness when I couldn't play what he taught right away. He seldom smiled and it made me feel I am not good and enthusiastic enough about the attitude of music.

Sometimes, I just played few notes, and then he would stop me and asked me some questions. Such as, "What are you thinking in your head? What can you see when you play these notes? What is the scene in your mind? Could you tell me what this harmony stands for here? Do you know the background of this music?" How hard the questions they are!

Then Mr. Yin would explain it and made me feel I was poor at that. I didn't have that information in my head. I just knew little! How could he know so much? Is it because of the experience, age, or something? It made me become thirsty for reading books about it.

Sometimes, he told me his thoughts about how to play the piano or the music pieces. His thoughts were all very special and I have never heard people think so. He really inspired me a lot.

Though his class was hard to struggle through, every time after I attended his class, I would need to think it over again. His words were valuable to keep in mind in my life.
